August 05 / New Market Study Instrument & Backtesting Integration Explained
Introducing Market Study: Your New Charting Powerhouse on Signal Sigma
We're thrilled to unveil our latest feature: the Market Study. Designed as a robust charting tool, it steps in to replace the legacy Market Internals dashboard. Market Studies are all about visualizing data in meaningful ways, especially for backtests like the upcoming Measure-Trace and Signal-Trace. Let's dive into what makes it a game-changer for your trading and investing research:
At its core, Market Study is a flexible charting platform that houses and displays time-series data from backtests as well as historical series. Besides strategies, 2 new backtesting modes will become available on our platform soon:
Measure-Trace: Think of it as a metric plotted over time, similar to the white sentiment line in our legacy Market Internals tool. For example, we created that Sentiment indicator by pulling from a stock screener that filters the top 1000 stocks by dollar volume, then aggregates the median 40-day stochastic oscillator;
Signal-Trace: This allows you to mark key events (e.g., vertical lines for conditions like asset outperformance) and analyze the impact; you will also be able to set the Stock Screener to act as a logic gate for generating time series events, useful for setting stop-loss conditions or to detect impending rallies;
Soon, you'll create custom series, plot full backtests, and link everything—screeners, strategies, signals—for seamless research. Export raw data for your own workflows, share studies, or duplicate for experiments.
We're excited about how this ties our platform together. If you're already exploring, drop your feedback in the comments. Not on Signal Sigma yet? Sign up today. It’s free!
