Signal Filters & Generation Logic

You can now take a basic condition (like “GEX to Volume > 0”) and instantly turn it into clean, continuous regimes, confirmed signals, or precise single-entry/exit points — all with live preview on the chart.

Here’s exactly how to use the new Signal Filters feature step by step.

1. Open the +Signal Menu

  • Click the +Signal bubble on your chart.

  • A menu opens with options for manual signal placement and the new custom logic tools (we will be adding more here);

2. Create a Basic Value Compare Signal

A simple yet powerful starting point is Value Compare.

Step-by-step:

  1. Choose Value Compare.

  2. Select the series you want to evaluate (e.g., medium-term GEX to Volume).

  3. Set the comparison:

    • Greater than

    • Value: 0

  4. Choose a visual style (e.g., green transparent shade).

  5. Click Apply.

Vertical bars now appear on the chart wherever your chosen series is positive. This is the raw signal. Applying filters happens next.

3. Apply Signal Filters

After creating your Value Compare signal:

  1. Click the dots (⋮) from the signal bubble you wish to filter.

  2. Click Edit.

  3. Toggle on Filter signal.

You now have three powerful live filters:

Filter 1: Enable Fill of Gaps → Create Continuous Regimes

Scattered signals can leave undesired gaps. This filter fixes that.

  • Toggle Enable fill of gaps.

  • Enter the number of days you want to fill (e.g., enough to connect nearby signals).

  • Click Apply.

Result: Your signal turns into a solid “wall” — a true regime instead of scattered bars. Perfect when you want to mark a condition for as long as it broadly holds.

Filter 2: Require Confirmation → Much Cleaner Regime Signals

This is one of the most useful filters for research.

  • Toggle Require confirmation.

  • Set how many consecutive signals must fire before the regime is confirmed (example in the video: 5).

What happens:

  • The signal ignores noise and only starts a regime after real confirmation (5’th consecutive trading day in my example).

  • It exits when the previous gap-fill condition allows (10 days).

Filter 3: Show Only A Precise Point Within Each Cluster → Buy or Sell Signals

Sometimes you don’t want a continuous regime — you want a single clear signal at the beginning or end of a cluster for instance;

  • Toggle Enable to display only a single signal instance from each clumped together cluster.

  • Choose the number:

    • 1 (default) → Shows the start of each regime (great for buy signals) in its default setting (counts 1 day from the start);

    • Toggle below reverses the count (counts 1 day after the end is confirmed)

My Example:

  • Set to show the end → You get clean “sell” signals at the conclusion of each positive GEX to Volume cluster.

  • Set back to the first instance → You get clean “buy” signals at the start of each new regime.

This is extremely useful when you want discrete entry or exit points rather than regime shading.

All of this updates live on the chart. You can tweak the confirmation count or gap-fill days and immediately see the difference.

The bottom line is that you no longer need complicated backtests to create meaningful regime or timing signals. All of these settings were previously available in our “Signal Trace” backtest, yet they were barely being used due to the clunky setup required. Not anymore. The screenshot below shows other logics that are coming soon (as they are technically already developed).

We hope you enjoy this update. As always, we’re listening — let us know how we can improve!

Happy Investing!
